Twitter is shutting down permanently?

Okay, so that was to get your attention as it seems Twitter is falling under the primary needs category more and more these days.
So that is why I will also use Twitter from now on. I signed up a long time ago, but never did anything with my account. But now - so I obviously can be as cool as you guys - I decided to wipe the cyber dust off of my account.

PS. Twitter currently IS down for maintenance.
